Services offered include Extended Outpatient Treatment (EOP), Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOP), and Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT). We also provide residential treatment programs and support through our Withdrawal Management Center (detox). Learn more about them here. Telephone and video visits available!
What is Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and Extended Outpatient treatment (EOP)?
Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and Extended Outpatient (EOP) programs provide assessments and treatment for those in early recovery from substance use disorders. Outpatient services include individual and group therapy, alcohol and drug education, relapse prevention, family therapy, and ongoing after-care.
Intensive Outpatient treatment for adults is offered in both day and evening hours and runs three times per week, three hours each day, Monday through Friday. The InterCommunity Outpatient Counseling Centers in East Hartford and Hartford are located on city bus lines and offer ample parking.
Outpatient treatment services are available in Hartford, East Hartford, and South Windsor.
Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) combines prescription medications, counseling, and behavioral health services such as group and individual therapy. MAT medications block the euphoric effects of opioids, relieve cravings, and help normalize bodily functions. InterCommunity provides a variety of FDA-approved drugs for substance use disorders (SUD).
We understand that medication alone is not sufficient treatment for addiction. That is why our clients participate in recovery treatment plans specific to their needs. Treatment plans involve MAT and therapy services, including individual therapy or relapse prevention groups. Clients can get treatment referrals from their primary care provider, therapist, or come in on a walk-in basis.
MAT Services are available at our Hartford, East Hartford, and South Windsor locations. Saturday services are available in Hartford.
InterCommunity offers telehealth and video visits to established patients where clinically appropriate. See instructions on how to prepare for your video visit.
