Executive Leadership

Kimberly L. Beauregard, LCSW, is the President and Chief Executive Officer of InterCommunity Healthcare Inc. InterCommunity is a nonprofit  community health center for the federal government and a local mental health authority for the State of CT . IC operates out of 18 locations in the greater Hartford region. Under Kim’s leadership, InterCommunity has become known as an innovator in healthcare for its integration of primary care, behavioral health and addiction recovery services. The organization has successfully expanded to include comprehensive children’s services and also operates ten school based health centers; 10 in the Town of East Hartford and one in Manchester. In 2023, InterCommunity was named a Top Workplace by its staff through the Hartford Courant for the thirteenth consecutive year, the only community health center in Connecticut to win this award for 13 years straight.  Kim has transformed the agency into one that is ahead of the curve in developing new services and programs that embrace cultural diversity and recovery.

 

Kim is a licensed clinical social worker and has over 40 years of distinguished service in the delivery of behavioral health services in direct care and administration. Before assuming the position of President and CEO of InterCommunity in 2003, she spent most of her career working with adults with persistent and prolonged mental illness and substance abuse disorders. She holds a Master’s degree in Social Work, a Master’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Urban Studies.  

 

Kim was the 2013 recipient of Charter Oak State College’s annual honorary degree, Doctor of Humane Letters. She has been recognized over and over for utilizing best practice models and clinical improved outcomes through state and national awards and recognition. Two of the awards include Hartford Business Journal's Health Care Hero – Achievements in Health Care Innovation 2010, and National Dorland Health's Top People In Health Care.  Kim was named a 2017 Women in Business Award winner by the Hartford Business Journal. In 2021, the Hartford Business Journal also recognized Kim with a “Lifetime Achievement Award”. Kim is most proud of being a woman in long term recovery from substances and is grateful to be able to bring her experience, strength and hope to this important work.

Tyler is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with nearly 30 years of service delivery and 20 years of leadership experience. Tyler is responsible for overseeing the care delivery aspects of the agency’s 48 programs and 18 locations.


In addition to supporting the daily operations, Tyler consults nationally and is InterCommunity’s innovation champion. He has created multiple programs that have garnered national recognition including Help Now and I CAN Recover. Since joining InterCommunity in 2006, Tyler has worked to expand InterCommunity services to include primary care, addiction recovery services, and behavioral health care across the life spectrum. 

A graduate of Worcester State University, Jeff brings over 20 years of finance, business, and operational experience to our organization. Previously he was the CFO of the Connecticut Health Center Association of Connecticut (CHCACT), providing help and services to the under-served of Connecticut as well as its FQHCs and FQHC look-alikes.​ 

Chad McDonald attended medical school at Nova Southeastern College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his Family Medicine residency program with Eastern Connecticut Health Network (ECHN). Dr. McDonald then became board certified in Family Medicine. He established a bustling outpatient medical practice in South Windsor, CT, and in 2017 Healthgrades.com awarded him a national and local "Top Ninety-Ninth Percentile" award for Family Medicine Physicians). After witnessing several loved ones suffer and die from addiction complications, Dr. McDonald became board certified in addiction medicine. He is currently practicing a hybrid of addiction and family medicine at multiple sites throughout the greater Hartford, CT, area. In addition to seeing his patients, Dr. McDonald now serves as the Chief Medical Officer at InterCommunity, a large, not-for-profit FQHC, wherein he extends his abilities to provide holistic, comprehensive healthcare and social work support at a healthcare system level. Chad has published multiple medical research papers, including "Crohn's Disease Diagnosis Following Discovery of In-Situ Follicular Lymphoma."


Additionally, he likes to think outside the box, enabling him to see the bigger picture of medical (and non-medical) problems. Chad also loves teaching and has served as a clinical instructor of family medicine and teaches medical students of the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, APRN students from Quinnipiac, and resident physicians from his alma mater, Eastern Connecticut Health Network.


As the author of "Cut the Doctorspeak: A Crash Course in the 12 Most Common Medical Problems" (now in its Second Edition), he continues to share science and medical knowledge with anyone who will read or listen.

He enjoys hiking, traveling, gardening, cooking, and spending time with his loved ones.

  • Aneta is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor with over 13 years of experience in caring for individuals with mental health and substance use disorders. She holds an MBA in Healthcare Management and has focused on designing systems of care in accordance with various regulatory standards and in response to the needs of our community.


    As the Vice President of Care Optimization, Aneta’s responsibilities include serving as InterCommunity’s Compliance Officer and focusing on quality and system improvements. She also leads the development and execution of organizational strategies that optimize the use of data to ensure the delivery of high-quality client care.


    Before becoming Vice President of Care Optimization, Aneta served as Director of Addiction Recovery Services. She oversaw a diverse team of 130 staff members, managed clinical operations of 4 departments, and led the agency’s implementation of 1115 Waiver. She ensured that all clinical performance improvement initiatives aligned with InterCommunity's mission of delivering optimal clinical outcomes while maintaining financial responsibility as a Federally Qualified Health Center.

    Tricia is a licensed clinical social worker with over 30 years of experience in behavioral health service delivery and seven years’ experience in health care administration. She has led multidisciplinary teams of nurse practitioners, behavioral health clinicians, and administrative support staff. Tricia is responsible for championing innovation and implementation of strategic initiatives. Beyond overseeing the daily operations of Intercommunity's School-Based Health Centers (SBHCs), Tricia leads both agency-wide and department-specific strategic planning, systems assessment, and initiative implementation.  She is also responsible for ensuring adherence to all applicable laws and regulations and acts as a liaison to external stakeholders.   


    Before her role as Vice President of Strategic Implementation, Tricia served as Director of School-Based Health Centers and Director of Practice Management. Her responsibilities included but were not limited to: overseeing the programmatic expansion of school-based health and federally qualified community health centers, supervision of a multidisciplinary team of integrated health care professionals, coordinator of a vaccines for children program for school-based health centers, youth advocacy, budget management and review, data analysis, strategic planning, developing strong partnerships with community stakeholders, legislative advocacy, and implementation of integrated health service delivery. 


    Tricia has extensive experience in leadership development, strategic planning, programmatic development, and program expansion. She is an active member of the communities in which she lives and works, evidenced by the various nonprofit organizations and advisory boards on which she serves. Tricia is an Executive Board member of the Connecticut Association of School-Based Health Centers, the Connecticut State School-Based Health Center Advisory Board, and The Tobacco and Health Trust Fund Board. 

    Venton is an accomplished executive with over 30 years of demonstrated experience in leadership and organizational management within a Fortune 500 company and the nonprofit sector, domestically and internationally. Venton migrated to Hartford, CT from Jamaica, W.I., in 1977, matriculated through the Hartford Public Schools system, and is a proud graduate of Weaver High School. He is also a graduate of the U.S. Army Academy of Health Sciences and Biblical Life College &Seminary, and holds a master’s degree in business management from Cambridge College.

    

    As Vice President of Community Integration and Impact, Venton’s responsibilities include but are not limited to, implementing a comprehensive community engagement strategy to enhance InterCommunity’s presence and impact, and developing new and strengthening existing relationships with community organizations and other relevant entities to drive meaningful social impact initiatives. He also provides strategic leadership to the development, marketing, and communications, call center, and regional transportation teams to ensure consistent and positive messaging in all internal and external communications, and oversees the ongoing development and implementation of all diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) strategies and initiatives.


    Prior to his role as Vice President of Community Integration and Impact, Venton served as Development Director for InterCommunity, providing strategic leadership for fundraising activities, grant management, volunteer programs, and marketing and communications

    William (Bill) Young is a consultant, licensed professional counselor, and national board-certified counselor. He serves on a number of Connecticut and national nonprofit boards of directors. Bill identifies as a person in recovery. He and his wife, Martha Page, live in Hartford.
