Employees from Chelsea Groton Bank’s Loan Production Office in Glastonbury and 14 branches in New London County participated in a dress down day which generated $456 to benefit the school-based health centers in East Hartford public schools.  Employees paid money to wear jeans and/or sneakers to work on a recent Friday.  William D. Checkosky, Vice President of Commercial Lending for Chelsea Groton, led the effort after learning of the impact that a donation could make on the health and well being of students in his bank’s community.

“We are touched by the generosity of employees at Chelsea Groton Bank.”

Tricia Orozco, Manager of the School Based Health Centers for InterCommunity

Tricia Orozco, Manager of the School-Based Health Centers for InterCommunity, stated: “This donation will help ensure children have access to health services, such as mental health assessments, management of chronic conditions such as asthma, nutrition counseling and more. As a Federally Qualified Health Center Look-Alike (FQHC LA), InterCommunity serves individuals regardless of their ability to pay.”
