Glastonbury Resident is Volunteer of the Year

hstrycharz • December 13, 2018

Forty-one years ago, InterCommunity Health Care humbly began in the basement of the Congregational Church in South Glastonbury as a resource for those with mental illness.  The relationship between these two organizations, one attending to the spiritual needs and one attending to the physical and mental needs of people, has remained strong ever since.

Last month at InterCommunity’s Annual Meeting, David Tiffin, a resident of Glastonbury and a member of the Congregational Church, was awarded the Volunteer of the Year Award for his service.  “We are so grateful Dave learned of InterCommunity through the Church and reached out to us early in 2018 to see how he could help us,” said Kimberly Beauregard, President, and CEO of InterCommuntiy.

“Dave’s contributions this entire year are immense.  He has given so much of his time assisting us with everyday office work and larger projects that have saved us thousands of dollars.  As a nonprofit, this kind of volunteer work is so appreciated.  In addition, he serves on our Development Committee, which offers guidance in our outreach and fundraising efforts.”

Dave also gives of his time generously to the Church, chairing their Stewardship Ministry Team and serving on their Human Resources Council.  When he is not busy volunteering, Dave enjoys golfing and spending time with his wife, Deanna, and family, most especially his two granddaughters.
