What better way to celebrate moms in May than to help them make their health a priority? National Women’s Health Week (NWHW) – May 12-18, 2024 – is a reminder to prioritize physical and mental health, and overall well-being. The theme for Tuesday, May 14 is “Shining a Light on Maternal Mental Health.” Did you know that around 1 in 5 women experience mental health issues during pregnancy or in the first year after giving birth?
Although many women experience these issues, many go without proper treatment and support. If you or someone you know is struggling, reach
out to your healthcare provider or to InterCommunity at 860-569-5900.
No one will be denied access to services due to inability to pay; and there is a discounted/sliding fee schedule available based on family size and income.
